In Irvine, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across California, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

Irvine is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Irvine follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This bagel shop is an absolute gem. The bagels are consistently fresh with a wide variety of options to choose from, and their cream cheese toppings are truly amazing. Their refreshing glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice or some of the best coffee in Irvine. My favorite bagels are the dried tomato as well as the garlic. Is there a specific neighborhood in Irvine you are currently focusing on for your next coffee run?

I was not satisfied with the sandwich I purchased. It came with no cream cheese or any other dressing. I got the jalapeno bagel and it did not really taste much like jalapeno (considering to Einstein Bros' jalapeno bagel). I couldn't believe that there was no cream cheese or at least Mayo on my sandwich. And the egg seemed to be the microwave kind. If I ever go back, I'll just other a bagel with cream cheese. It's a very small place and seating is limited and crowded as well as people forming a line in the only passage way there is and then having to wait either outside or in a small crowded corner. Your food will be called and left in the counter for you to just walk up and pick up as the employees are busy getting orders out. I went on a weekday morning and there was a moderate line that does move fast though. It's located in a bit shopping plaza but parking near the place can be limited since it's a busy place.

East Coast Bagel is a solid local spot, and honestly, I think it’s better than Einstein Bagels. The bagels are fresh and tasty, and you can tell it’s a popular place because it gets very busy. They have an interesting system for ordering and payment, which works once you figure it out, but it could definitely use more menus or paper menus with clearer directions to help first-timers. A little more guidance would go a long way. Overall, it’s a good local bagel shop and a place I’d happily go back to.

I just completed a hot yoga class in the morning, and I was looking for a place to grab coffee. I've always seen the place around, and after a recent trip to New York, I couldn't help but be drawn towards a place calling themselves the "East Coast Bagel." The bagels in the east coast are different! Will the same standard be upheld? Upon entering, i got to step into a warm, down to earth atmosphere. The inside seating includes about 5 groups of 3-4 people. There are also outside seating in front of the store and scattered throughout the outdoor plaza. Based on a recommendation and from what I've read on Yelp I got the Lox Garlic Bagel Drip coffee It was All Delicious! Coffee is Nice. The salmon was not too salty and the creaminess of the cream cheese richly enveloped my mouth. The capers added a nice pop too. The garlic bagel was chosen because it was a favorite pairing of one of the kind servers there, and I can see why! There always seems to be a line in the morning, yet the service is quick and they put in the effort to ensure Your order is made to your satisfaction. There are a good number of families who also dine here early in the morning. A friend of mine also got a doz
